It is no secret that Arsenal is looking for a striker to bolster their attack. Yesterday’s rumours about a possible bid by Arsenal for Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato and Spanish under-21 striker Alvaro Morata fit that scheme.
Both players are at a crossroad in their career. Morata is sidelined more often then not at his current team Real Madrid. The same is true for Pato, who returned to Brazil after he couldn’t establish himself anymore at AC Milan
Today Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger addressed the media before playing Hull City FC on Wednesday at home and denied those transfer rumours by saying: “There is no truth in that, that is all I can say. I have not been in touch with them.”
It’s still interesting to see if Wenger will focus on signing another talent at the striker position to take the pressure of Olivier Giroud.
We reported yesterday that sources in Brazil had stated Arsenal had a €8 million offer refused for striker Alexandre Pato by Corinthians.
Rumour had it yesterday as well that a deal with Alvaro Morata might be in place, reports which have been run by several English newspapers.
