A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United…
The radio station reports that Di Maria has grown frustrated with his lack of game time at the Bernabeu, and has asked his agent Jorge Mendes to find him a new club in January.
Talk Sport has picked up on previous reports from Spain suggesting the player could be on his way to the principality, due to the fact that Mendes has other clients currently playing for Claudio Ranieri’s side.
There is no doubt United need a new winger or two – given the fluctuating form of most of their current wide-men. But the report concludes with the statement that current Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has no intention of parting with Di Maria until the end of the season.
In other news, United coach Phil Neville believes Marouane Fellaini will ultimately come good at Old Trafford. This despite the Belgian struggling to find his feet since his summer move from Everton.
As United prepare to face Fellaini’s former club this week, Neville told the Manchester Evening News that time will prove him to be a good signing.
“We are really relaxed and we are really patient with Felli,” Neville said, “because you have seen it with players in the past like Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic it took them six months to settle in here.”
If the Belgian goes on to play as well as the club’s captain and vice-captain, fans will have no complaints. But he has a long way to go before that is the case.
