Some of the key stories relating to Tottenham Hostpur on this Tuesday evening
Michael Dawson has praised midfielder Sandro after his goal against Manchester United in the 2-2 draw against the Champions at White Hart Lane on Sunday. Dawson has said the midfielder is a player that ‘everyone loves,’ and the club’s captain can relate to what Sandro has been through after a lengthy injury lay-off.
He told the Tottenham website: ‘Even when he was going through such a hard time on his way back from injury he was still part of it all. And what a goal! We’ve seen that in training a few times.
‘It does affect you, I know that well and I know what it means for him to be back playing again. It’s great to have him back, he’s a great guy.’
Defender Kyle Walker has urged his teammates to show they can do ahead of their clash with Fulham and wants the side to dig deep and go on a similar run to last season where Spurs went on a run containing only one defeat in 16 matches.
Walker is quoted in London 24, saying: ‘The players in the dressing room know we have to dig deep, show why we are playing for Tottenham, why we are playing for such a big club, a top-four club and prove to the fans and the gaffer and the chairman why they put the faith in us.’
Emmanuel Adebayor is struggling to be fit for tomorrow night’s match with Fulham according to several newspapers with boss Andre Villas-Boas having the option of playing either Roberto Soldado or Jermain Defoe up front.
‘Every day I work hard to earn myself a place in the team, but I know I have had the support of [Carlo] Ancelotti since the first day that he came here.’
