The Ecuador international put in another strong performance in his side’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham on Sunday.
Although the likes of Ashley Young and Nani failed to put in positives performances consistently, Antonio Valencia was one of the major disappointments.
The Ecuador international was arguably United’s best player in the 2011-12 season, with his drive, pace and delivery excellent for the Old Trafford outfit.
However, last term Valencia looked to have lost his confidence, was ineffective and guilty of giving the ball way too often.
The start of this season saw David Moyes experiment with different combinations on the flanks, but Valencia has been getting the nod more often than not of late.
The former Wigan man is repaying Moyes’ faith, and has been putting in consistently better performances for United over the last month.
On Sunday, Valencia was one of the visitors’ main attacking threats, finding space in behind the Spurs defence and getting to the byline on a number of occasions.
That drive and energy that he first display after singing for United appears to be back in his game, and the Ecuadorian looks like he is enjoying his football once more.
With the other widemen still not overly impressing, having Valencia on form is a real bonus for a United side looking to get back into the title race.
Outside of Wayne Rooney, there is an argument to suggest that Valencia is in the best form of any of the players at Old Trafford currently.
