Last season saw many players have something of a mini-breakout year at Liverpool FC. The likes of Raheem Sterling and Andre Wisdom showed their obvious potential to become Premier League regulars in the future with their top performances.
Another name that came on the scene was Suso. The tricky Spanish playmaker has been on the tip of the tongue of any Liverpool fan who watches the youth team for the past couple of years - and he showed some of his definite class in a few eye-catching performances.
But in the end his youth told - as his slight build made him an easy target for Premier League bullying and his form dipped as a consequence.
So this season, with plenty of new arrivals in the top third of the Liverpool pitch, Brendan Rodgers sent him out on loan back to his native Spain.
Suso joined up with UD Almeria at the start of the season and it has been an excellent campaign so far.
The 20-year-old has been in great form - bagging five assists in 13 games for the side currently struggling in La Liga, just three points off bottom spot.
And yesterday he added another goal to his tally.
Suso, playing on the right against Celta Vigo, came inside onto his more potent left foot and thundered a powerful 25-yard drive beyond the home goalkeeper to give Almeria the lead.
Not that it mattered much. The final score ended up 3-1 to Celta Vigo as Luis Enrique’s side secured their first home win of the season.
But while the immediate future for Almeria looks bleak, the future of Suso looks bright - and hopefully it will all be done in a Liverpool shirt…
Here is the goal…
