Tottenham player ratings vs Man United: Which Englishmen stood out?

Kyle Walker 2

In a much better Sunday afternoon for Spurs, the North London club and United battled to an entertaining 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane

See below for the Spurs ratings:

Hugo Lloris 5/10 - The French captain didn't have a great deal to do in the match, having no chance with the first goal. For the penalty however, he should of let Chiriches continue to push Welbeck wide, and made the wrong choice to come for the ball.

Kyle Walker 7/10 - MOTM - Scored a great free kick, drilling the ball under a jumping wall, and made a couple of good challenges. Crossing and set piece taking was outstanding all game. Was unlucky with the United goal when the ball bounced off him to Rooney.

Vlad Chiriches 7/10 - Fast becoming the David Luiz of Spurs. Loves to come forward with the ball and has outstanding control for a defender, but prone to overplaying it on occasion and putting his team in danger.

Michael Dawson 6/10 - Not for the first time Dawson looked off the pace, getting done by Danny Welbeck on more than one occasion.

Jan Vertonghen 6/10 - Was determined in his defensive approach but lacked the pace on occasion to keep up with Antonio Valencia.

Paulinho 6/10 - Did well with his running and energy levels, getting forward well when Spurs were in the ascendency. Some of his decision making could be a little better at times.

Sandro 7/10 - Was doing plenty of excellent defensive work for much of the game, but it was his amazing long range goal that will get tongues wagging, scoring one of the goals of the season with his dipping strike.

Aaron Lennon 7/10 - Lennon's best game of the season for Spurs, looked dangerous against Evra and was busy all around the United box in the first half. Was surprising that he was subbed fairly early on.

Moussa Dembele 6/10 - Made a strong start in a more advanced position, but he lost possession in the lead up to Rooney's goal as he was uncharacteristically pushed from the ball.

Nacer Chadli 5/10 - Chadli gave Chris Smalling a relatively tough game at right back early on whenever he got the ball, which wasn't often enough to influence the game. Predictable but quick footed, and faded from the game in the second half.

Roberto Soldado 5/10 - The Spaniards link up play was better today, with several decent touches and passes. But was very disappointed with his chance midway through the first half that he blazed over, and struggled to lead the line with any influence.

-Substitutes-

Andros Townsend 65' 6/10 - Caused Evra a different kind of problem once he came on, and nearly scored after almost getting on the end of a great Kyle Walker cross.

Jermain Defoe 72' 6/10 - Looked more dangerous than Soldado once he came on, made some good runs and drew a cynical foul from Vidic late on.

Gylfi Sigurdsson 85' 5/10 - Had little time to impact the game.
