When Khalid Boulharouz decided to sign for Danish side Brondby this summer it was a deal met with many questions as many wondered why he decided to switch to the outskirts of Copenhagen after a career that saw him play for Sporting Lisbon, Sevilla and of course, two very unsuccessful years at Chelsea.
But it might have been to escape from the constant press talk in Holland and Germany - of his former Dutch international team-mate Rafael van der Vaart and his ex-wife Sabia.
RVDV himself was in a well-publicised marriage with Sylvie Meis - and they were even described as the ‘Dutch Posh and Becks’.
However the two separated on New Year’s Eve 2012 after allegations of domestic abuse in what was a highly public separation.
But RVDV has moved on, and still maintains a good friendship with his former wife, but is now in a relationship with Sabia Boulharouz - currently pregnant with Van Der Vaart’s child.
And she has been speaking to the Dutch press about their plans for the future - including potential nuptials.
"It has not come at the right time, yet. I would never marry pregnant. The important thing now is that I can bring a healthy child."
She then confirmed that the wedding bells would be ringing next summer:
"I absolutely want to tie the knot with him."
This complex tale has had German and Dutch column inches filling for months now - and the wedding they are all after will be happening next summer.
But they need to be careful with their planning.
Van Der Vaart may have a plane to Brazil to catch at some point this summer.
