Arsenal's Francis Coquelin scored his first goal since April 2011 on Thursday evening in the Europa League.
22-year-old Francis Coquelin was desperate to leave Arsenal this season on loan to get some regular football under his belt.
And life could hardly have got off to a worse start when he was sent off for picking up two bookings on his Bundesliga debut for Freiburg back in August.
The defensive midfielder has confusingly found himself stuck out on the wing for much of his time there, but at least he is playing, with eight starts and four substitute appearances so far.
Now life may start looking up for him, because he has scored his first ever goal for the club, the winner in a 2-1 Europa League against FC Slovan Liberec.
He has never scored for Arsenal either, and we did wonder if it was his first ever senior goal, but he has just the one before, scored for previous club Lorient back in 2011.
Let's hope he can use this as a springboard to kick on and show something to make Arsene Wenger decide to give him a first team chance next season.
