United star: No momentum from Arsenal win, can't afford loss to Spurs

Manchester United defender has said the club did not make the most of their Gunners triumph and that they must claim maximum points at Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United did not capitalise on the three points gained from their 1-0 victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford earlier in the month, relinquishing two points to Cardiff City last weekend and so, the club's upcoming trip to Tottenham Hotspur must yield victory so that the club's title push can get back on track.

That is according to Patrice Evra, who even implied that a loss would be the worst case scenario as it would ruin all the momentum they have accrued from an undefeated spell in the Premier League.

He is quoted by the club's official website to have said: 'We didn’t make the most of the Arsenal win and that was why we were so disappointed about the Cardiff draw. We are in good form but for that silly goal at Cardiff.

'We have not lost for a long time and we want to keep winning and winning. We cannot wait for Tottenham, but we know we cannot afford to lose at White Hart Lane.'

Evra also rued missed opportunities against Southampton and in Wales last week: 'If we'd have won against Southampton and Cardiff and not lost to West Brom we would be top of the league and that is why we are so frustrated.'

United take on Tottenham in the Sunday afternoon fixture.
