Arsenal and Chelsea target decides on his future - The right move?

Arsenal and Chelsea target Saido Berahino has been convinced to stay at West Bromwich Albion and will sign a new deal 'within the next 24 hours'.

Chelsea and Arsenal target Saido Berahino looks to have been convinced by West Bromwich Albion officials to stay put at The Hawthorns, and become a regular player in their side, report The Mirror.

The England under-21 international striker has been in explosive form for club and country, and earlier in the season was rumoured to have done enough to earn a full England call-up by manager Roy Hodgson.

Although the call never came, there has been little doubt over the players ability. Even at 20 years of age, you can see the player is naturally talented and looks like he could have a huge future in the game, and has shown tremendous growth since his uninspiring loan spell at Peterborough last season, which saw him score just twice in ten games.

The figures that have been reported show that the player could receive a 1,764% pay-rise from his last £850-a-week wage that he had been performing his heroics under, which is more than well-deserved!

Arsenal will be the more disappointed out of the two sides, as the natural striker looked like he could have been suited to playing under Giroud at Arsenal.

For Chelsea, his miss is not a great blow, for this is the side who felt they were so strong in the striking department they could afford to loan out Romelu Lukaku again, who is a more advanced forward at this point than Berahino.

All options considered, it looks as though Berahino is making the right move. At Chelsea, and even Arsenal, he was likely to get swallowed up so early. Let's not forget he has only just broken into the first team at West Brom.

At the Baggies, Steve Clarke is perfectly placed to advise him what would lie in store at the Blues, having worked extensively as an assistant at the club, and also as Liverpool. He may just have done enough to put Berahino off.

If Berahino is good enough, he will get his chance eventually, but right now, West Brom is the best place for him.
