Vidal 'very close to Juventus renewal'

An Arturo Vidal hat-trick saw Juventus beat FC Copenhagen 3-1 last night and the Chilean fended off potential suitors after the game.

Arturo Vidal is a superstar in the making and Juventus have taken a significant step to ensuring he doesn't leave the club.

Vidal has been excellent in Serie A this season and was the inspiration for the Bianconeri again as he destroyed Copenhagen with a hat-trick.

There have been rumours linking Vidal to Chelsea and Manchester United amongst others in recent weeks, but Juve are close to agreeing a contract renewal with the 26-year-old.

"We are very close to agreeing a new contract," Vidal said on Champions League Live.

"There's only a tiny bit left to do. I am happy to stay at Juventus and am ready to sign."

Vidal also spoke of his delight at an important Champions League win over Copenhagen and his pivotal role in the outcome.

"I'm very proud of the win and my hat-trick," he beamed. "When Copenhagen equalised we immediately went out to get ahead again and succeeded even though they were very organised and closed things down."

The victory leaves Juventus in a strong position in Group B but they still need to avoid defeat away to Galatasaray to ensure that they qualify in second place behind a rampant Real Madrid.
