League One loan deadline review: Former Bayern man signs for MK Dons

The loan window for Football League clubs slammed shut at 5pm today, with some teams more active than others.

With no opportunities to sign players until the January transfer window opens, teams have been active in bringing players in on loan deals, and none more so than Steven Pressley's Coventry City. The Sky Blues have been hit hard by the 10 point deduction they received for their financial difficulties, but former Hearts defender Pressley has impressed this season, guiding Coventry to a mid-table position. Without the deduction, Pressley's side would be sat in the playoff places, but successive defeats to Rotherham (3-0) and Tranmere (5-1) have forced the Scot to enter the loan market, and he's added three players today in order to stop the slide.

Yeovil Town defender Dan Seaborne will hopefully shore up a leaky defence, whilst the addition of strikers Chris Dagnall (Barnsley) and Chris Maguire (Derby County) will keep top scorers Callum Wilson and Leon Clarke on their toes, with the pair hitting 25 goals between them so far this season.

Meanwhile, Steve Evans' Rotherham were also busy, adding two Newcastle United players to their squad. Defender James Tavernier was the first to arrive, with the right back seeking first team football after his loan at Shrewsbury Town earlier in the season ended. The second Magpie to head to Yorkshire was Haris Vuckic, with the 21 year old forward struggling for first team opportunities under Alan Pardew this season. Rotherham sit seventh in the table, outside of the playoff places on goal difference, and Evans will be hoping his new additions can catapult the Millers into the top 6.

Finally, former Bayern Munich winger Dale Jennings has been loaned from Barnsley to MK Dons. Jennings, who starred at Tranmere in the 2010/11 season, moved to Germany in the summer of 2011, but after two years in the Bayern Munich reserves, he returned to England with Barnsley in a £250,000 move. Jennings hasn't rediscovered his form though, and manager David Flitcroft has seemingly sent the 20 year old down a division in order to gain some confidence.
