Liverpool have apparently a long-standing interest in Chelsea's current third choice left back Ryan Bertrand, and the lack of game time has apparently rekindled Brendan Rodgers interest in the former Champions League winner.
Ryan Bertrand has enjoyed fruitful career at Chelsea, despite the majority of the time being a fringe player. The 24-year-old has won both European competitions, as well as an FA Cup during his tenure at the club but with playing-time looking less and less likely, it looks like the England international could be on his way out.
The player signed a long-term contract in the summer, worth around £35,000-a-week but since then his position in the team seems to have worsen. It is currently very difficult to see where Ryan Bertrand fits into the current first team squad, and with changes on the horizon, you can only assume it will get worse.
Liverpool are desperate to see another left-back come through the door in January as their first-choice is currently out injured until at least February.
Although not considered first choice at Stamford Bridge it will do little to put Rodgers or the Liverpool fans off due to their storming success of the last 'cast-off' they signed.
Daniel Sturridge has been on a mission to make Chelsea look naive and ridiculous for letting such a wonderfully talented player leave the club.
Would Bertrand have a similar impact to his former team-mate?
