Champions League outing makes Nani to Juve unlikely

According to sources in Italy, Juventus will drop their interest in Manchester United's Nani as he played in the Champions League last night.

Juventus' flirtation with Manchester United winger Nani could be over after he played against Bayer Leverkusen, meaning he couldn't play in Europe for the Bianconeri.

Nani has been unsettled at Old Trafford this season, turning in several disappointing performances and being jeered by the home fans.

It has been widely reported that Juventus are considering pouncing for the Portuguese international in January as they look to strengthen to fight for Serie A and Champions League glory.

But according to Tuttomercatoweb, Nani's first Champions League appearance of the season against German side Leverkusen is likely to kill off any chance of a winter move to Turin.

Nani started in United's 5-0 win and scored their final goal in the 88th minute during a bright performance.

Juventus now know that if they were to sign Nani he would be unable to play for them in the Champions League this season.

United have always insisted that Nani would stay at the club and the decision to field him in Germany may have been a ploy to ward off potential advances from other clubs.
