Ozil penalty miss 'good news' as Wenger reveals Flamini anger

All the morning news and gossip from The Emirates as Arsenal beat Marseille 2-0.

Arsenal are on the brink of qualification for the second round of the Champions League - after an inspired display from Jack Wilshere led them to a 2-0 victory over already eliminated Marseille last night,

Wilshere scored in each half, while Mesut Ozil also missed a penalty in the win.

However it is not enough to see them through to the next stage after a makeshift Borussia Dortmund side put Napoli to the sword in Germany.

Arsenal simply need to avoid defeat at the Stadio San Paolo and they will be through to the last 16.

In regards to the woeful Ozil penalty, after the game Arsene Wenger quipped:

“That's good news for England, maybe! I agree that everybody can miss a penalty. I think his run-up to the ball was a bit short, but it's the way he takes them.”

Mathieu Flamini however has found himself in hot water - after cutting his sleeves once again. The Frenchman prefers to wear short sleeves however Arsenal tradition is for all the players to wear the same shirt length as the captain. Wenger has however made it clear it won’t be happening again:

"I do not like that and he will not do it again. I was surprised, and we don't want that."

Wenger has also spoke of being on 12 points - a tally that usually would have seen him qualified by now for the next round, but due to the whipping boy nature of the French outfit is not the case:

"This is just pure and simple the result of Marseille being on zero points. They won't want to finish on zero points so hopefully against Dortmund they will play like they did against us in Marseille. If they do that they have a chance and if they draw that would send us through."
