A select round-up of morning news relating to Manchester United…
Manchester United’s players and staff were involved in what has reportedly been described as a “frightening” experience last night, as their plane took two attempts to land in Germany.
Flying to Cologne for their Champions League group match against Bayer Leverkusen, the plane is said to have been just 400 metres from landing when the pilot realised another plane was already on the runway.
The Daily Mail reports that the pilot quickly regained height before landing safely at the second attempt.
Rio Ferdinand later took to Twitter to write, “Landed in Germany…just…I’ve only just recovered after that choppy landing.”
The report goes on to claim that the pilot spoke to the players and staff after the flight to explain they had not been in any danger.
Given the erratic nature of United’s current winger’s, and their lack of quality in central midfield, the moves would make sense.
But whether they can be completed in January – a notoriously difficult transfer window – remains to be seen.
