United’s squad suffered a mid-air scare on their trip to Germany for the clash this evening as the team’s plane had to abort its landing 400 metres above the runway but, thankfully, the plane landed successfully and nobody on board was harmed.
Rio Ferdinand tweeted:
"Landed in Germany....just....I've only just recovered after that choppy landing"
David Moyes has urged Wayne Rooney to play with aggression ahead of the game tonight.
“I want Wayne to have fire in his belly,” said the Scot.
“I think he plays better when he is tough and aggressive. I don’t want to change Wayne Rooney that’s for sure.”
Former Manchester United defender Dennis Irwin believes United’s title hopes’ depend of Robin van Persie’s fitness.
"Rooney and Van Persie are going to be very important for us this year," Irwin told Goal.
"If United are going to win championships we need those two to stay fit. There's no doubt that if they stay fit then they’ll score goals for us.”
Meanwhile, United’s Class of ’92 have travelled to Germany to inspire the next generation of Red Devils.
In transfer news, United youngster Will Keane’s loan move to Wigan is ‘imminent’ according to Lactics boss Owen Coyle who is confident the deal will go ahead.
"The paperwork is there to be signed, whether that's today or tomorrow morning. I don't want to get ahead of myself but we're confident that will certainly happen," he stated.
