Some of the latest stories coming out of Tottenham Hotspur this Wednesday evening.
Defender Vlad Chiriches is determined for Spurs to get back to winning ways at the earliest possible time by overcoming Tromso in the Europa League tomorrow night in Norway. Tottenham have already qualified for the knockout stages but Chiriches told the club’s website it will be a good opportunity for them before they play Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.
He said: ‘It’s a good game for us. We need to take what we can from the last defeat and try to win on Thursday to boost our morale. I hope we can play to our best and we hope to win the game.’
He said: ‘I wish he wouldn’t swap the team around so much. I don’t think we’ve had the same team in two games running. If you’re going to get a connection between players you need to play your best team and I’m not sure AVB knows his best team. He’s still trying to find that.’
The Evening Standard has reported that with increasing speculation surrounding the Portuguese man in the dugout, AVB’s job is safe at the club for now.
However, it is reported that some board members are questioning Villas-Boas’ methods and informal discussions have taken place over his suitability for the club.
One man who has said he has dreamt of managing Spurs is ex-midfielder David Ginola, but don’t expect him to be the next man in the hot seat if AVB leaves.
He told TalkSport: ‘I would love to manage Spurs one day. I will have my UEFA A licence in the next eight months. If you become a manager one day the obvious thing is to manage a club you like, you know and you love.’
