Some of the news and rumours relating to Liverpool Football Club on this Wednesday morning.

On-loan winger Victor Moses has said he would like to get some more game time in a Liverpool shirt – whether that is in his preferred position on the left or in a more central role.

Moses is quoted in the Liverpool Echo, saying: ‘The main thing is to be on the pitch and enjoy football. That’s always been on my mind – to play games.

‘When you’re in the middle the ball comes to you more often – but usually there are more players around to stop you.

On the wing sometimes you can drift in and out of the game depending on how things are going.’

Ex-defender Jamie Carragher has said that Liverpool fans will probably see a lot more of Jon Flanagan after his impressive display in Saturday’s Merseyside derby against Everton.

Carragher said: ‘He’s [manager, Brendan Rodgers] been forced to put him in a bit because of injuries.

‘We talk about young English players getting a chance, well Flanagan gets a chance and is one of the best players in the derby match.

‘Now he has the confidence of Brendan Rodgers I think we’ll see a lot more of him.’

The Liverpool Post is reporting that Rodgers may prioritise a left-back in the January transfer window because of the knee operation that has forced Jose Enrique to be sidelined for ten weeks, which the Liverpool boss described as ‘not ideal’.

Rodgers said: ‘You would prefer two in there to be challenging. Jose is clearly one of the best left-backs in the league and to have him out is a blow.

‘It is certainly something that if Jose is going to be out for a long time we would have to look at it for sure.’

Transfer rumours now and the Express are reporting that Liverpool, along with rivals Manchester United may activate the £33m release clause in Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan’s contract.

Turan’s agent has been quoted as saying: ‘He wants to work in England.’

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Luis Suarez has recommended countryman Kevin Mendez. The report says the teenage striker could be available for £3m.
