Manchester United will face high-flying German club Bayer Leverkusen without two of their most influential players…and Marouane Fellaini.
Neither Nemanja Vidic nor Robin van Persie is yet fit to return to first-team action – the Serbian centre-back suffering concussion and the Dutch striker absent with a groin injury. Summer signing Fellaini is also unavailable after being sent off in United’s last European match against Real Sociedad.
United are both on a high and a low at the moment – in the midst of a 10-game unbeaten run and yet no doubt disappointed by the late equaliser they conceded to Cardiff City on Sunday.
A win for either side would see them qualify for the knock-out stage, and United will not want it to come down to the final group match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk if they can help it.
What do you think the result will be this evening?
