Sakho, who only moved to Anfield in September in a £15m switch from Paris Saint-Germain, scored twice as France progressed to the World Cup in a stunning 3-2 aggregate win over Ukraine.
Now a national hero, it seems the French press are disappointed that Sakho hasn't featured much so far, as he once again remained on the bench in Liverpool's 3-3 draw at local rivals Everton this weekend.
The question reads; "Mamadou Sakho, a backup at Liverpool, should he be interested in a return to Ligue 1 in the winter transfer window?"
So far, only 35% of voters think Sakho should seek an early exit from Merseyside, with the majority (62%) believing he should stay under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers. Just 3% said they didn't know what Sakho should do.
With Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel currently occupying the two spots in central defence in Liverpool's four man back line, Sakho has his work uct out to get back into the team, but there are few options available if he was to return to Ligue 1 anyway. His former club, Paris Saint-Germain, spent £30m on teenager Marquinhos and still have Thiago Silva and Alex, but Monaco have the money to tempt Sakho back. Whether they actually want him is another matter, but it would be hard for any side to attract Sakho back to France.
