Brazilian midfielder targets Manchester United 'dream'

Brazil V Scotland

Brazilian midfielder Everton Ribeiro is aiming for a switch to Old Trafford to achieve his dream of playing for the Premier League champions.

24-year-old Everton Cruzeiro (yes, his name is Everton), currently plays his football for Brazilian top tier side Cruzeiro where he has scored 5 goals and made 8 assists so far this season in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A.

The tricky attacking midfielder hopes to impress United boss David Moyes who is understood to be hoping to add some creativity and flair to his midfield in the January transfer window.

"I will continue doing my job here at Cruzeiro but plan on getting to a big club," explained Ribeiro.

"It's a dream I've had since young, I've always liked Manchester United."

According to reports he has also been linked with a number of top clubs in Europe – in Russia as well as in China and Qatar but his dream is to play for the champions in the Premier League.

He’s currently valued at around £5 million and would likely need time to adapt to the intensity of the English game but the attacking midfield maestro could be just the surprise signing Moyes could one day bring to Old Trafford.
