Roma tactician Rudi Garcia is angry that Italy's rugby union team played against Argentina at the Giallorossi's Stadio Olimpico.
Italy fell to a 14-19 defeat against Argentina yesterday afternoon at the Olimpico and Garcia feels that the pitch has been damaged.
Top of the table Roma host Cagliari on Monday evening looking to get back on track after their winning run was interrupted by draws with Torino and Sassuolo.
"I've never seen the need for rugby to be played on a football pitch," Roma tactician Garcia told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"The fact is that putting on a rugby match two days before a football game is bizarre planning. The pitch will be in a terrible condition.
"After three days of rain we just had to hope that the rugby match was a flowing game with the ball in hand."
The President of the Italian National Olympic Committee, Giovanni Malago, also spoke out in Garcia's favour.
"I think Garcia is probably right," he said. "I don't know why this has happened. All I can say is that the Olympic Committee didn't have anything to do with the decision."
Roma are likely to lose top spot at least temporarily this weekend as Juventus can overtake them if they win at Livorno on Sunday afternoon.
