Five potential destinations for Chelsea’s soon to be Bosman Lampard

LA Galaxy, QPR, Al Ain, AS Monaco, Napoli or ...? Where next for Frank Lampard if no contract renewal is offered by Chelsea this time?

This summer sees an abundance of Premier League stars currently becoming free agents as their contracts at their respective clubs reach their natural conclusion.

Of course there is still plenty of time in the season for them to earn new deals with their respective clubs - but in a little over a month’s time they can begin to talk to clubs freely, without needing the permission of their current employers under the Bosman ruling.

So who could Chelsea legend Frank Lampard sign on the dotted line for - if he is not offered a new deal at Stamford Bridge?

LA Galaxy

Lamps was heavily linked with a move to the MLS when his contract dwindled toward expiration last season - however he stayed at Chelsea after a late contract renewal was offered.

This summer coming he may not be so lucky as to be offered a new deal - as his form takes a dip.

So could the Galaxy be calling this time?

He could keep it in the family - and go play for his uncle ‘Arry at Loftus Road.

QPR look destined for a return to the top-flight under the former Tottenham boss this season - and Redknapp would love to have Lampard in his Hoops midfield.

Meanwhile Lamps could still be playing Premier League football and only be playing down the road.

AS Monaco

Claudio Ranieri is the man who actually signed Lampard from West Ham back in 2001 - and back then we bet nobody ever thought he would become the Chelsea legend he is today.

Now at mega-rich Monaco, would Lampard be tempted by one year of relaxing in the tax-haven?

I know I would.

Rafa Benitez got the best out of Lampard toward the end of last season - and he might just try to bring to Italy on that basis.

Serie A’s slower pace would suit his ageing legs while once again it is a wonderful place to call home as retirement dawns.

Al Ain

He could do what many have in the past and make a move to the Middle East - with plenty of teams out there willing to pay top dollar.

Abu Dhabi based Al Ain are set to lose Asamoah Gyan in the summer - so perhaps he could be a target to replace their current marquee player?
