A select round-up of morning news relating to Manchester United…
Despite apparently finally ruling out a return to Manchester United, that has not stopped Cristiano Ronaldo from being tipped for a return to England.
The Real Madrid man avoided the cryptic for once when he said he could see himself retiring in the Spanish capital. But speaking on MUTV, David Moyes said he would love to work with the Portuguese in the future, prompting the media to re-open the Ronaldo to United floodgates.
The story even made headlines in Ronaldo’s homeland, where A Bola reported Moyes’ comments late last night.
“Anyone at Manchester United would say he is the best in the business,” Moyes said.
“I have not been fortunate enough to work with him, but there is still hope some day it might be possible.”
Or…United and their manager could simply move on and blood the next generation of great players at the club.
In other news, Moyes has asked for the fans to give Marouane Fellaini time to show what he can do.
The Belgian is yet to excel since his summer move from Everton. But in quotes published by the Express the manager said, “Marouane knows he can play better. We are yet to see him properly. He can be a bigger influence.”
In truth he has to be, otherwise that £27.5million outlay could be hailed as Moyes’s biggest misstep so far.
