Yet more reasons why £53m player's transfer to Chelsea may be smooth…

Rumours of Falcao leaving AS Monaco after just a season appeared destined for the transfer bin, but could Jose Mourinho really nab him?

Reports from France that refute speculation linking Radamel Falcao with an imminent AS Monaco exit emerge on a monthly basis.

Monaco manager Claudio Ranieri recently claimed that, considering the fees involved in Gareth Bale's transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid, then his penalty-box poacher is worth £168m. Indeed, the costs involved in matching Falcao's wages whilst factoring in his valuation (£53m), indicate that the Colombian would cost at least £170m spread over a five-year duration.

The perpetual daily reports linking Falcao with Chelsea, though, refuse to ebb.

And, while LeSport10 claim negotiations between Chelsea and Monaco could prove smooth because of the familiarity of the club's owners (Dmitry Rybolovlev and Roman Abramovich), there is yet one more link between manager Jose Mourinho and player Falcao - they share the same agent; Jorge Mendes.

Is this enough to ease a winter window transfer for one of the hottest players in world football, for a striker who returns a goal and assist once every 112 minutes, for a player who would no doubt make an immediate impact at Stamford Bridge because of the ease in which he has adapted to all the different countries he has thus far competed in?
