The 'Sakhominator', as the Liverpool star revealed his new nickname from teammates to be, remains a non-stop talking point in France.
He also revealed to Le Parisien that he his two-goal show for France against Ukraine has been compared to 1998 legend Lillian Thuram's World Cup semi-final brace against Croatia.
"What struck me most pleasure was the comparisons to Thuram. He is more of a role model for me, let's say an example. He wrote the history Les Bleus, I only a small page."
Now former Juventus star Thuram has repaid the compliment, discussing and praising Sakho in L'Equipe.
"This is someone I really like. He really has the right attitude when he is extremely determined.I hope for him to score more goals because I've stopped at 2!
"What is interesting about him is that he is ahead. At 23, I had not set goals for France. This is extraordinary.
"I hope it will continue for him and the team of France, they will continue to give this happiness to the crowds."
Sakho will no doubt be relayed his idol's comments, but now is time to distance himself a little from the whirlwind of a week and focus on the Merseyside Derby this weekend.
A brace there and he might just find some great defensive names of Liverpool's past coming out to sing his praises.
