What's left for Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers this year?

Sitting pretty in second place in the Premier League, all looks well for the Reds. But can it get better before the season ends?

There's a number of tough trips facing Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers before the year is out. Those games will define whether the side are genuine title contenders this season.

Are you ready Liverpool fans? Here they are.

Everton (A) 23rd November – It doesn’t get much bigger than the Merseyside derby. Rodgers will be looking for all three points after blowing a 2-0 lead last year at Goodison Park to draw 2-2. He’ll also want to get one over on Toffees boss Roberto Martinez who manages in the fixture for the first time.

Hull (A) 1st December – Liverpool tend to win games that they aren’t expected to but slip up in fixtures they should be winning (3-1 away at Southampton last season an example). This will be seen as a potential slip up but this year’s side should be too strong for the Tigers.

Tottenham (A) 15th December - Another tough game that last season saw the Reds suffer defeat. Spurs aren’t scoring many but aren’t conceding either so it should be a tight game. If Rodgers and his side can come away from White Hart Lane then they put themselves in a great position ahead of their tough Christmas fixtures.

Manchester City (A) 26th December – You can’t get many tougher fixtures on Boxing Day than a visit to the Etihad. It’s a fortress for the home side but Rodgers will take solace in the fact that they should have won last season but for a mistake by now on-loan goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

Chelsea (A) 29th December - And to finish off the list of tough away games for the Anfield side, it’s off to Stamford Bridge for the last game of the year. Liverpool do have a decent record in recent years though, picking up seven points from their last three trips.
