Just like the last two successive seasons, Thierry Henry has returned to Arsenal to train with the club and keep his fitness up during the MLS winter break.
In 2011 he even re-joined the Gunners officially on loan, providing one of the best feel good stories in recent Arsenal history when he came off the bench to net a winner against Leeds United in the FA Cup.
Henry did not extend his training last winter into anything beyond that, with cost of a loan and insurance payment to the New York Red Bulls putting the club off.
With Arsenal searching for striking options, it is not a complete stretch to imagine this time being different, even if it would present just a sticking plaster solution to the club's problems.
If he isn't involved in giving Giroud a rest, his enthusiasm can certainly help inspire the rest of the squad simply by having him around once again.
Henry is now 36-years-old, but he has still got the skills to pay the bills, as evidence by this superb goal he scored just three weeks ago.
