A select round-up of morning news relating to Manchester United

The Daily Star reports that Manchester United will sign Valencia midfielder Ever Banega this summer.

The Argentine has a reported £50million release-clause, but the story claims the Spanish side’s continuing financial difficulties will ultimately see them accept around £20million for the 25-year-old.

David Moyes is in desperate need of at least one new quality midfielder, and having apparently sent scouts to watch Banega three times in recent weeks, he could be the answer the Scot has been looking for.

Then again...the same was said for Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara and Ander Herrera to name a few.

In other news, a former United striker could be set for a return to the Premier League.

The Mirror claims West Ham United are interested in bringing Diego Forlan to Upton Park in January.

Despite being 34, and returning to South America last summer, reports claim the Uruguayan could be set for one final stab at a league he failed to master in his first spell, prior to his breakthrough in La Liga.
