Chelsea latest: Torres OUT, Mourinho's concern & 'Pool > CFC?!

All the latest news and views from Stamford Bridge including a former Blue claiming Liverpool are a bigger club…

Contrary to what was generally considered the popular opinion this week, Fernando Torres has been ruled out of Chelsea's weekend clash at the Boleyn Ground versus West Ham United even though he has recovered from an an abductor injury and has returned to the club's Cobham training ground.

One player thought to be sidelined who has been including in the match-day squad, however, is full-back Ashley Cole, who was expected to lose his place to Cesar Azpilicueta.

The full squad heading to the East End for the Saturday, November 22 game is as follows: Cech, Ivanovic, Cole, Luiz, Essien, Ramires, Lampard, Mata, Oscar, Mikel, Schurrle, De Bruyne, Hazard, Ba, Willian, Schwarzer, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Eto'o, Bertrand, Kalas, Beeney.

Mourinho does have one pressing concern… and that is travel sickness: 'We have to do better,' he is quoted to have said at the press conference earlier today, Friday. 'We’ve had very difficult matches away. I think our fixtures up to now have not been the easiest ones.

'We’ve played already against two title contenders [Manchester United and Tottenham] and played Everton and Newcastle – those are always difficult stadiums to go to. We have had difficult matches, but of course we have to do better and we need to get more points in the next five away matches than we did in the first five.'

And finally, in a statement that is sure to rile passionate Chelsea fans, an ex player - Daniel Sturridge - believes that Liverpool are the bigger club.

He told ESPN: 'This club is more of a pressure cooker than Chelsea. [There] we were challenging for titles and the expectation from the fans and a lot of expensive players get bought and your fighting for your place. But I think as a club, [Liverpool] is bigger, the history of the club and the way the fans want success.'
