Thierry Henry's return to Arsenal in 2011 was very briefly what dreams were made of. The phenomenal player Gooners thought they would never see in an Arsenal shirt again looked like he had never been away.
His game-winning cameo off the bench against Leeds United sent supporters lucky enough to be there wild, and are no doubt still recounting it.
The rest of the spell didn't quite live up to the same heights, with Henry looking frustrated during a defeat to Swansea, and missing a game against old rivals Manchester United via injury.
He did though make a late cameo against Blackburn, scoring, and netted a last minute winner away to Sunderland, which proved vital in Arsenal finishing fourth that season.
Sadly his last memory in an Arsenal shirt came at the San Siro, where he barely got a kick in a 4-0 defeat.
Arsene Wenger may have been tempted to bring him back last season when he came back to train, but decided against it, indicating he will show similar restraint this time.
Henry, 36, scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 29 games for MLS side New York Red Bulls this season, and surely he would be a better option than Nicklas Bendtner up front to support Olivier Giroud.
However costs of insurance in case he got injured, which complicated his original return, are likely to put Wenger off again - who will also be focusing on permanent striker solutions rather than temporary ones.
Nonetheless the possibility has already sparked some lively debate, here is what Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying:
a 35 year old Thierry Henry is surely a better option than Bendtner or Park!! #AFC— Dean Kenway (@Kenos86) November 22, 2013
have major respect for Thierry Henry, the way he comes back like nearly every year due to MLS off season and trains with us #AFC— shadat chowdhury (@FxukNormality) November 22, 2013
A blindfolded, handcuffed, one leg tied 36 year old Thierry Henry will still be a better option than Bendtner from the bench. #SignHimUp— FG (@FunnyGooner) November 22, 2013
imagine wenger signs Henry back on, just as a sub every now and then #lethal— tompalmer. (@tomwp_6) November 22, 2013
Hope Wenger doesn't see Thiery Henry as his jan signing. D great man is training 2 stay fit dat's all. Focus on Suarez, lloriente, lewy etc— MAGNETICR2J (@AIGBUGUI) November 22, 2013
Wouldn't another little loan for Henry in January be awesome? Gives us time to recruit a top class signing & imagine if we won the league!— Daniel Arsenal Cowan (@thedanielcowan) November 22, 2013
No idea why everyone is excited about Henry. No way will Wenger sign him on loan again.— Ash (@n5_ash) November 22, 2013
