Match to be played on Saturday 23rd November 2013 at 15:00. Venue: St. James' Park, Newcastle.
Newcastle United welcome Norwich City to St James Park on Saturday for a 15:00 kick-off - and do so in good spirits after two fantastic results on the bounce.
Alan Pardew’s men have won the past two games in the Premier League - defeating Chelsea 2-0 at home before a Loic Remy strike saw off Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane after the international break.
The Canaries bring with them former Toon boss Chris Hughton, and they too are riding high after picking up a crucial win against West Ham last time out.
So who does Pardew go with in this fixture? Here is our predicted XI…
GK - Tim Krul
Absolutely no doubt here. The Dutch keeper put in a sensational performance against Tottenham Hotspur the other week and will go into the tie in high spirits after that tremendous display.
DC - Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa
Finally, after 11 months of toil, it seems as if the Toon Army are starting to get the best out of the French international.
He has started the last two games for Newcastle so expect nothing different considering the success they had in those fixtures.
DC - Mike Williamson
The Englishman owes a lot to opposite manager Chris Hughton - who really brought him on as a player during their time together on Tyneside.
Fabricio Coloccini may be fit again, but why change what isn’t broken.
DR - Davide Santon
The Italian is another who is simply not under threat however with Mathieu Debuchy suspended he may have to switch to the other flank.
DL - Paul Dummett
The left-back pulled out of the Welsh squad this week - but is expected to be fit for the game.
The club could play Yanga-Mbiwa here and bring back Coloccini - but Williamson and Mapou have played well together recently, and that partnership should not be disturbed.
MC - Cheick Tiote
Another player who is starting to get back to his best after a dip in form. He will be challenged with containing the surging runs of Leroy Fer from the Canaries midfield.
MC - Yohan Cabaye
Back to his best? He certainly was for France in midweek. A dead cert to start the game fitness permitting - and he could be the key to victory.
MC - Moussa Sissoko
Yet another Frenchman returning from glory - but he could play in a more central role this week as United may go for something more attacking against Norwich City.
LW - Yoann Gouffran
It would be a real shame to leave out the player after his recent good form. Newcastle will likely be less cautious against The Canaries at home so he could form a front-three.
RW - Hatem Ben Arfa
In from the cold. After being dropped to bring in the bullish Shola Ameobi for the tough games v Chelsea and Spurs surely Pardew will want more dynamism in this fixture. Ameobi to miss out.
ST - Loic Remy
It is his favoured and best position, and his mobility against the Norwich defenders should present a real test for the visitors - certainly more of a test than Ameobi would.
