All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…
Speaking in the build-up to the his side’s match against Tottenham this weekend, Manuel Pellegrini told Sky Sports News Arabia that Costel Pantilimon was likely to continue between the sticks.
“I am absolutely sure that this will be an important thing for him (Hart) to come back to his performances of the last two years,” the Chilean said.
The St. Etienne defender has a growing list of admirers, but it is claimed that City believe they could secure him for around £10million having already held initial talks with the French club.
He would certainly be a far cheaper option than City’s other apparent defensive target – Eliaquim Mangala of FC Porto.
Not that Zouma has enjoyed the best of seasons to date. He is currently serving a 10-match ban for breaking the leg of an opponent last month.
And finally, John Guidetti may soon get his wish to leave the Etihad in order to secure first-team football.
The young striker only recently spoke of a possible move, and Talk Sport has since reported that a return to former loan-club Feyenoord could be on the cards.
They have picked up on reports abroad, where Feyenoord’s technical director Martin van Geel has ruled out a move in the short term, but has opened the door to a possible summer switch.
“Guidetti has a special feeling with us and the feeling mutual,” he told Dutch newspaper AD. “In the short term, however, I think that his arrival is absolutely impossible. But who knows what that will be like in a few months.”
Unless of course he simply meant he was holding out until the new year…
