News, views and rumours relating to Manchester United in the past 24 hours.
In team news, Darren Fletcher is edging closer to a return for United – a topic which Red Devils legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke about.
“I was over in Manchester about a month ago and I was lucky enough to bump into Fletch and he said he was on the road to recovery,” said Solskjaer.
“I met him purely by chance outside the supermarket and it was great to see him. I could see just from talking to him that his tail was really up, because he's had a rough time of it.”
Solskjaer added: “It's funny to think I played in his Scotland debut in Oslo. I remember that game well, we actually swapped shirts afterwards and I've still got it at home - I was thinking of digging it out and putting it on for the game on Tuesday night!”
United legend Dennis Law also wished Fletcher well and outlined his hopes for the Scot’s return to action.
"He's had a horrible time, hasn't he?" said Law. "He was going to be a key player for Scotland as well as Manchester United. It's awful to have that situation where you're not playing and obviously don't feel well either.”
"He is coming back, which is good news, as it's been almost a year now. We all wish Darren the best of luck to come back."
In transfer news, The Guardian reports that Paul Pogba could return to United following the 20-year-old Juventus midfielder’s departure last year.
Meanwhile, The Express claims Serie A rivals Juventus and Inter Milan will ‘battle’ to sign Nani. Both Italian outfits are said to be monitoring the availability of the Portuguese winger.
Elsewhere, Anderson has revealed he is ‘not unhappy’ with his lack of opportunity at United. The Brazilian midfielder spoke candidly about his decrease in playing time with the English champions.
“Every single player wants to play every game,” he told the Manchester Evening News.
“I am the same as all the rest. I need to play. I am 25 and cannot stay one more year and not play. But you cannot demand that.”
'I am not unhappy. You have to be patient and when you do get your chance, you have to do well,” he added.
This comes as The Express reports that Anderson is being lined up for a loan move to Fulham in January as a way of ‘escape’.
United remain linked with Germany starlet Julian Draxler following his revelations earlier this week that would love to play in the Premier League at Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea.
Meanwhile, United youngster Will Keane could go out on loan at Wigan to continue his development in the Championship. The BBC reports that the two clubs have a ‘verbal agreement’.
Since the initial news of the proposed loan deal, M.E.N. have reported that Keane’s loan move could be on hold due to injury following the youngster’s foot injury picked up on international duty with England U21s.
