Some of the key stories involving Spurs on this Thursday evening
Spurs captain Michael Dawson is feeling confident ahead of Sunday’s trip to Manchester City, but has said that City will be as determined as Tottenham are to bounce back from a bad result from before the international break.
Dawson told the club’s website: ‘We’ll go there and look to get back to winning ways. It’s a tough game, a big game and one I’m sure both teams, both sets of fans and the neutrals are all looking forward to.
‘It’s always a tough place to go. We were unlucky on their ground last season and the year before. Over the last few years we’ve played well there.’
Lewis Holtby expects Sunday’s game at the Etihad Stadium to be a tight affair with only fine margins deciding the outcome.
He told the club’s website: ‘It’s going to be a tough game.
‘It’s a match between two opponents that like to play attacking football and I think it’s going to be a great game to watch.
‘We need a result after the disappointment against Newcastle and it’s important to win this game.
‘Everyone will be trying their best to win a top game like this.’
Spurs target Adrien Rabiot is now the subject of an inquiry both from Chelsea and Arsenal according to a report in the Daily Express.
18-year-old starlet Rabiot has hinted that he is unsettled at PSG, saying only last month:
‘I know it is important to the leaders and supporters [that I am homegrown]. But that’s not enough.
‘If I am to be set aside on the day where other players are recruited in my position, it is not worth it.’
