Chelsea have been linked with Lazio's Senad Lulic in the past but this time it could be more serious as reports suggest Jose Mourinho is determined to add him to the squad.
Lulic is nicknamed 'The Train' due to his pace and power and has tendency to make marauding runs with the ball winning comparisons with Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.
The 27-year-old is also very versatile and can play on either flank as either a winger or a wing-back, although he is more comfortable on his right foot.
Lulic has been at Lazio since 2011 when he signed from Young Boys. He spent most of his childhood in Switzerland having been uprooted by the Bosnian War.
According to Infoticker.ch, Lulic is near the top of Chelsea's shopping list and an offer could be forthcoming as soon as January.
Lazio have been overshadowed so far this season by city rivals Roma and coach Vladimir Petkovic is under increasing pressure.
There have been suggestions in Italy that the Biancocelesti will cash in a few players in the winter to rebuild the squad and Lulic could be one of those.
German giants Borussia Dortmund may challenge Chelsea for Lulic's signature should he leave Lazio with rumours recently that they have prepared a bid of around £10m.
Lulic, who is currently still shaking off the effects of an hamstring injury, has made attempts to leave Lazio in the past, but the club have always insisted he is not for sale. His contract doesn't expire until 2016.
