Chelsea latest: Injury blow for West Ham, Ramires, de Bruyne suitors

All the latest news and views from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea were dealt an injury blow during international week as accomplished left back Ashley Cole, 32, will not be available for the trip across London to West Ham United's Boleyn Ground on Saturday, November 23.

Cole has struggled to shake off the rib injury of late, initially suffering the blow during the club's victory over Norwich City on October 6 and aggravated it whilst on international duty with England this week.

Cesar Azpilicueta is expected to deputise during the Irons match, over Ryan Bertrand.

On transfer rumours, it is an open secret that Kevin de Bruyne may no longer be on the books when the transfer window reopens for trading in January as the Belgium 22-year-old wants to play regular football, something he has not been getting at Stamford Bridge, in order to safeguard his national place ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

While Bundesliga duo Schalke and Wolfsburg are reported admirers, the Daily Mail have added Atletico Madrid to the conversation, also. The two clubs are on good terms already, as Blues shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois is thriving there on a temporary, loan basis.

Ramires, meanwhile, remains committed to Chelsea despite continued press talk over Real Madrid and Barcelona interest. 'Many people are asking about the supposed interest from other clubs in my football but I don't know anything, apart from what was reported in press,' Ramires reportedly told Lancenet.

'I am under contract with Chelsea and my attention resides solely in keeping on doing the good job done at the club.'
