Another contract boost for Manchester United while £20m flop rules out exit

Vidic

A select round-up of morning news relating to Manchester United

Just days after the news that Michael Carrick has agreed a contract extension at Manchester United, it appears Nemanja Vidic could be following suit.

The Express claims United’s skipper is to be offered a new one-year deal despite numerous reports he would leave at the end of the season.

Now it appears the ball is in the Serbian’s court, and whether he feels he could get a better offer elsewhere.

Following reports that Anderson could be on his way to Fulham in a bid to reignite his career, the Brazilian has been speaking to the Manchester Evening News about his future.

I haven’t spoken to David Moyes about my situation because I think I have a good situation at the moment,” he said. “I love this club and I have been here for over six years.

I feel fit now and I just need the games. I believe if I had games and a good run of them then I could show again the player I was in my first and second seasons at Manchester United. That was the real Anderson.”

If it is games he is after, a much-mooted loan move could be the best option for all parties. But either way it appears Anderson has no desire to leave the champions permanently.

And finally, another day, another ‘new Messi’: this time eight-year-old Claudio Gabriel Nancufil.

The Mirror reports that United and Chelsea are battling for the precocious youngster who currently plays for Bariloche in Argentina.

Hailed for his amazing dribbling skills and control, he could be the next big thing.

Then again…remember Freddy Adu!
