Manchester City star man scores twice - Can he outshine Messi?

Sergio Aguero took advantage of the void left by Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi but can he overthrow the throne!

The Manchester City striker was handed Lionel Messi's trademark number 10 shirt for their international friendly with Bosnia-Herzegovina and carried on the tradition that the number 10 carries.

The former Atletico Madrid man took advantage of some good work and movement shown by Internazionale star Rodrigo Palacio and struck the opening goal in the 40th minute.

The second goal was an absolute masterclass. Aguero controlled the ball on the half volley before unleashing a rocket into the top right hand corner, leaving the keeper in no-mans land.

The Argentinian has been in fantastic form this season for Manuel Pellegrini's side scoring 13 goals in his first 14 matches.

Delighted with his goal and the result, the Manchester City striker said after the game:

'''It was good to end the year with a win. 'We ended a good year, I'm happy because they won''

On the absence of Lionel Messi, he admitted that Argentina always misses the Barcelona star but expressed his delight of being handed the number 10 shirt.

The competition of forward places for Argentina is the most fierce in world football and even more so to stand-out but in the players current form, he may look to overthrow the throne of Messi!
