Clarence Seedorf is widely believed to be the favourite to take the AC Milan job if Massimiliano Allegri is sacked and rumours state that he'll move to snap up Andrea Pirlo if he gets the chance.
After a terrible start to the season, the pressure is mounting on Milan boss Allegri with the press regularly suggesting that he is close to the axe.
Various names have been mooted as successors to Allegri, including ex-Milan men Pippo Inzaghi, Andriy Shevchenko and Seedorf.
The Dutch midfielder is currently playing for Brazilian side Botafogo but has revealed that he is studying for coaching qualifications with an eye to moving into management.
And according to Sportmediaset, Seedorf will replace Allegri at the end of the season and attempt to stamp his mark on the team.
Pirlo is allegedly the first name on the shopping list in a move that would reverse the Italian international midfielder's free transfer from Milan to Juventus in 2011.
Juve are said to be attempting to agree a contract renewal with Pirlo, who will otherwise become a free agent in the summer.
Tottenham and Chelsea have been linked with the free-kick master but if Sportmediaset is to be believed they may face competition from Milan who have the inside track given the close relationship between Pirlo and Seedorf.
