Manchester City have been linked with an audacious move for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

Chesire Today reports that the Blues are believed to have made the first steps towards potentially bringing the Belgian to the Etihad.

The 20-year-old has been in outstanding form in recent times, both for West Bromwich Albion and now for Everton. But seemingly no closer to winning a regular starting-birth at his parent club, Manuel Pellegrini appears keen to move for a player who will have no shortage of suitors if he does leave Stamford Bridge permanently.

The report claims City have made an enquiry, but that they may face competition from Arsenal. Although in truth it is hard to see Jose Mourinho sanctioning a move to either.

In other news, Blues midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim has been talking to Sky Sports about his future.

Having completed a loan spell at Norwegian club Stromsgodset, the 22-year-old was widely expected to make a permanent move next year.

However that may not be the case, with Ibrahim saying, “I would love to be given a chance (at City) and give everything for this special club.”

The player has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs in the past, and while he acknowledged the interest, he is hoping to prove to Pellegrini that his future lies at the club he has been with since 2007.
