Manchester United ace tweets praise of €45m transfer target

England Crowd Two

Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand sounds like he wouldn't mind seeing one of last night's German stars on his team.

Julian Draxler was handed a cameo off Germany's bench last night against England and he certainly impressed one man in the 1-0 win.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand took to Twitter to praise the 20-year-old Schalke playmaker, who has three goals and four assists for his club this season.

Draxler commented this week that he would happily entertain a switch to United in the near future.

He told the BBC: "I like English football. I like the Premier League of course - it's one of the best leagues in the world,"

"You have big clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea - of course it's a big dream to play for one of them."

The German has said previously he will entertain such a move, but has no intention of uprooting and leaving Germany ahead of next year's World Cup.

In his time on the pitch against England, introduced in the 62nd minute, Draxler completed 92 per cent of his passes, and created two goalscoring opportunities.
