Along with Tommy Smith and Norman Hunter, Ron 'Chopper' Harris is widely regarded as one of the toughest defenders of his era.
Harris made 795 appearances for Chelsea between 1961 and 1980. While at Chelsea, Harris won the League Cup, the FA Cup, and the European Cup Winners Cup.
Harris replaced Terry Venables as Chelsea captain in 1966, and, in 20 games against former club legend Jimmy Greaves, managed to keep the striker scoring in every match bar one.
An England call never came, however, as Harris was overlooked by a succession of national team managers Walter Winterbottom, Alf Ramsey, Joe Mercer, Don Revie and Ron Greenwood.
