Where we expect Jackson Martinez to sign in January...
Jackson Martinez remains one of football's most in-demand strikers, and he himself admits a move is only a matter of time.
With 10 goals already to his name this season, the clubs are said to be queuing up - as he gets about proving his 31 goal debut season for FC Porto was no flash in the pan.
The reason is simple enough, with Inter recently being taken over by media-friendly Indonesian billionaire Erick Thohir.
He has recently been boasting he could even sign Lionel Messi, and while such a deal for the Argentine is a non-starter, he is gearing up to make a big push in the transfer market in January.
Inter sit fourth in Serie A, with the top three rewarded with Champions League spots, and Thohir would see any investment paid back via qualification for the competition next season if the Nerazurri could make it.
A striker is the one area where Inter lack real top quality, with 31-year-old Rodrigo Palacio their top Serie A scorer with seven goals, his closest teammates on four.
Signing a top quality striker is said to be a priority in January, and Jackson Martinez is arguably the best one on the market.
He admitted as much last week, that he was awaiting a big move, and the 2010 Champions League winners have the prestige to attract him.
Importantly there are no negotiations required, for he has a £34.8 million release clause, meaning Thohir simply has to put his money where his mouth is and bring him in.
Their determination is likely to see Martinez head their way, unless Arsenal or Chelsea show the haste required to get their man first.
