Messi admits he's 'angry' with himself after injury

The Barcelona and Argentina forward has revealed he was 'angry and sad' after being told to sit out for the next two months.

Barcelona record-breaker Lionel Messi has claimed that he was ‘angry’ after suffering another injury that will keep him out for six to eight weeks. The Blaugrana man limped out of their 4-1 win over Real Betis last Sunday, and has since been told that he will miss the next two months with a muscle tear.

'I’m sad because I did not expect this,' he told Ole. 'But I’m also angry because it is an injury that has happened to me straight after enough one.'

Some critics have suggested that the Argentina international has struggled since Pep Guardiola left the club – changing his diet and training regime. The forward though, has refuted those claims.

'But there is nothing unusual about this. I am injured, but it’s not because I’ve changed anything. The injury has happened because it had to happen – you can say what you want, but that’s all it is. I’m just going to continue with the same plan that had been set up at the start of the season. Of course, the World Cup is at the end of the season, but that won’t change a thing.

'People say things without knowing the whole truth. My diet is the same as always. Things have been invented that aren’t true.'
