Two Tottenham players will start England’s friendly with Germany tomorrow night at Wembley in winger Andros Townsend and right-back Kyle Walker.

Academy boss John McDermott was concerned by the manner of the goals conceded in the under-18’s 3-1 defeat to Leicester City.

McDermott told the club’s website: ‘From our point of view I thought we made it too easy for them, but saying that I won’t take anything away from Leicester for their ability and their work rate to get to 3-0.

‘Worryingly it was like three carbon copy goals that we conceded, so we spoke about that afterwards.’

Transfer rumours now and Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has said he will not be leaving the Serie A club in January according to the Daily Mirror.

Pjanic has been a target of Spurs, and the 23-year-old Bosnian has said: ‘I won’t exclude the possibility of one day playing elsewhere, but I doubt this will happen soon.

‘It certainly won’t be in January, which is what some people have said, and certainly not in the next year and a half either.’

Aston Villa and Newcastle are reported to be interested in midfielder Mousa Dembele according to the Daily Mirror. Dembele has expressed his frustration at the role he currently has at White Hart Lane and is quoted as saying: ‘The coach has explained that he makes a tactical choice, he wants more defensive players in midfield.

‘I can’t be satisfied with it, of course, I just want to play as many games.’

Spurs are reported to be one of several Premier League clubs interested in Torino winger Alessio Cerci according to TalkSport. The winger is valued at £12.5m and is in action for Italy against Nigeria at Craven Cottage tonight according to the report.
