Italian sports journalist Alfredo Pedullà has reported that Roma are plotting to sign Brazilian international Sandro from Tottenham.
A report on Pedullà's personal website insists that the Giallorossi see defensive midfielder Sandro as the perfect man to bolster their ranks.
Pedullà states that Sandro's versatility and pugnacious character have endeared him to Roma and that he could be the extra weapon the capital club need in their armoury for the second half of the season.
Roma started the season in historic fashion by racking up 10 wins from 10, which gave them a commanding lead at the top of the Serie A table.
However, there have been the first signs that Rudi Garcia's men are being brought back down to earth after draws with Torino and Sassuolo.
If Roma are to fend off an advancing Juventus in the Scudetto hunt they will need to add some depth to the squad.
Pedullà believes that the close relationship between the directors of Roma and Tottenham makes a deal for Sandro all the more likely.
Sandro has made just over 70 appearances for Spurs since signing from Brazilian side Internacional in 2010.
