Andrea Pirlo was busy after the 1-1 draw with Germany, commenting on Ballon d’or, his future and trying to convince Maldini back into football.
Andrea Pirlo was ever-present as Italy drew with the Germans in a friendly running up to the world cup. After the game, the player was sat down and asked several questions, based on the match and speculation around him, and the national side.
The 34-year-old had a lot to say after the game, here are a few of the key points:
‘’Today was an important test, to understand at what level we are. We played at par, perhaps with some initial pain’’
The Italian maestro heavily tipped by many for the away, passed on the praise to opposition for the night Franck Ribery, claiming:
‘’I think he Ribery deserves, he has won everything this year’’
A.C Milan and Maldiini
‘’I have no regrets. ‘
‘’Over the decision I made three years ago and now I am a Juventus player. Sorry to see A.C Milan in this situation of the standings, but I am sure he will recover.’
‘’ I spoke to Maldini, it would be good to see him back in football’’
And finally on future:
‘’My future? There is thorugh-out the season to talk about it, we’ll see. I’m optimistic, I want to continue to play, because I’m good and I enjoy it
‘’I don’t know if it will be Juventus or another team’’
The experienced midfield player could still be a huge part for any side for another two, perhaps three years yet and would be an incredibly shrewd signing; his experience alone will be a huge boost.
Juventus seem likely to cut ties with their influential midfield man due to the emergence of former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba that seems to be settling in comfortably into Pirlo’s old role.
The amount of supposed clubs interested in the 34-year-old, means he could end up almost anywhere on the planet, but wherever he goes – he will be a good player, a big player and an exciting one for fans.
