A select round-up of morning news relating to Liverpool…
Writing in his column for the Mirror this morning, former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish believes it is imperative the Reds sign new players in January…because that is exactly what the teams around them will do.
Citing Liverpool and Southampton as the surprise packages of the season so far, Dalglish said that if finances allowed for a bit of January shopping, “the rewards could be considerable.”
“They have got themselves in position. Now they have to try to seize the opportunity,” he wrote.
He also believes that despite the speculation, Luis Suarez is going nowhere.
That is not something Juventus are reportedly convinced of, with the Express reporting that the Italian club are prepared to do something akin to swapsies with the Reds, taking the Uruguayan off their hands in exchange for Claudio Marchisio and Leonardo Bonucci.
It is claimed that both Juventus players have interested Brendan Rodgers, and that while he has no intention of parting with his talismanic front-man, the possibility of bringing in two such talented players could tempt him.
No, we don’t think so either.
